Wow! … just Wow!
Something Need to Change is not what I was expecting. It is a powerful story that grabs your heart and your spirit and creates a desire for things to change in you!
Of all the great content in this book, this is by far the one statement that stood out to me the most: “There is a kind of love for God and for others that simply can’t be manufactured by religious learning.”
And then 3 pages later, David writes, “in light of Jesus’ story in Luke 10, I realize that God is calling me to new heights of love for him and others. To a kind of love that goes beyond all my religious learning or sense of religious responsibility. To a kind of love only God can create. A kind of love that causes you to change the plans you might have had for your life or your family or you future. A kind of costly, uncomfortable love that’s neither complacent nor content to protect yourself from the needs of those around you.”
This book challenged me to consider what it really means to follow Jesus and to love like Jesus loved.
This could very well be one of those books that you read yearly and it will speak to you in a fresh, new way each time it’s read.
I enjoyed the material presented. It is well written and obviously something David has wrestled with and continues to wrestle with.
I highly recommend Something Needs to Change. It is a book for seasoned Christ followers as well as those just getting started in their journey.
